Jørgen Johan (Gerhardson) Thompson was born Dec. 17, 1865(# 1) on Ivarsøy farm, Fitjar in Sunnhordaland County, Norway. He was son of Gerhard Conrad Thomsen and Anna Martine Olsdatter. Jørgen Johan was probably married to Amanda Thompson, Clearbrook, Minnesota. They had 3 children:

Jørgen Johan Emigrated to New London, Minnesota in 1886. He probably emigrated together with his brother Hans. Later he moved to Traill Co., North Dakota. He was married twice and had 5 children and one adopted child. Latest known adress is Clearbrook, Minnesota. 1)
